A Hero's Love
By: Shadow
Sage
In the
forest,
Late one night,
Four figures met,
By pale moonlight.
They sat
around a fire,
A little apart,
To choose who would
Claim the Hero's Heart.
The first
stood up,
A fierce, wild beauty.
She cried "The hero should
Belong to me.
"He
is the guardian
Of the light.
He needs a companion
Who can fight."
"You
can't have him
You're far too old"
Said the second, a redhead,
Pretty and bold.
"All
know upon his horse
He is the most happy,
He can be so always
If he comes with me."
"You're
far too poor
To marry him."
Yelled the third, a Zora
Complete with scales and fins
"I
could give him
Many rich things.
Why if he came with me
He'd be a king."
The forth
spoke out,
"You can't claim him because you're rich.
Why you are nothing but
A big blue fish."
She was
the last.
A green haired girl.
"I shared with him
His childhood world.
"Of
this you'll
Never be a part
I will always be
His first sweetheart."
The fight
might have continued
The whole night through,
But suddenly a voice ran out,
"Shame on You."
Like a
silver shadow she appeared
A Shiekah Sage from beneath the tree.
And beckoned to them all.
"Come follow me."
She led
them to
A castle high
Where underneath
A starry sky.
Stood a
lonely figure
On a balcony.
And far below
Their hero staring up at she.
They saw
in his gaze
That for her he yearned,
They saw his feelings
Were returned.
But they
also saw
A great divide.
Between Pauper and Princess
Far too wide.
Their love
was deep
But all in vain.
It would bring them
Naught but sorrow and pain.
The four
disbanded
There and Then
And never spoke of
That night again.
For the
truth had dawned
Upon all four.
Though lost his heart was hers
Forevermore.
