Graphics Not Invited!

I think that Nintendo should make some remakes of old NES classics so younger kids who never had a chance to play these games will have a second chance. They should remake games like KIRBY'S ADVENTURE or THE LEGEND OF ZELDA like they did and will be doing with some classic MARIO games. They've remade SMB and The Lost Levels in Super Mario Bros. DX and are remaking SMB2, Mario Bros, and SMB3 (as far as I know) on GAMEBOY ADVANCE. But, the thing is, they should keep the same graphics, which brings me to the point of my Article.

One, day, I invited my friend over to play some video games. When I was showing him how to play SUPER MARIO LAND on my SUPER GAMEBOY, he said, "I don't really want to play this game."

Confused, I said, "This is a really fun game. Why don't you want to play it?"

"It has poor graphics," he replied.

Now that made me mad. I didn't show it, him being my friend and all, but I was about ready to go through the roof! Instead, we ended up playing his stupid "great graphical" Pokemon Stadium instead.

What I'm trying to say is, kids only buy the games for its graphics. I'm probably the only kid who still buys "poor graphical" games. I only really care about how fun a game is (and how much of a challenge because lots of games are too easy for me). And, call me crazy, but for Christmas 2000, I asked for an NES, because I started with SNES, and I am planning on asking for it again for Christmas 2001 (call me greedy, too. ^_^). I really hope I get it, but I don't know where you can find an NES anymore (except maybe Funco Land).

Don't get me wrong, though. I still think graphics are pretty cool, because I'm eyeing Super Smash Bros. Melee and Luigi's Mansion for GCN (GameCube). But just don't turn down a game because of "poor graphics." You don't know how fun it will be until you actually try the game. So please, at least once, the next time you are in a video game store (and if you still have an older system), buy and old game, and don't invite the graphics!
