Even Nintendo has it wrong about Zelda
By: Odnetnin

I've read many theories on the subject. Pondered it myself, truthfully. I've come to the ultimate conclusion about the bond of all the games of Zelda. But before I go into the reality that is Hyrule's past, present, and future, I'm going to give a brief summary of the general public's beliefs on Link.
Link begins in Ocarina of Time, never having known the truth of his destiny, until the Deku Tree gives him instructions, and Link saves Hyrule from evil. (Although the way I see it, Ganondorf wasn't THAT bad as long as he didn't have the Triforce. Link of course, saves the day, and learns the truth about the mighty triangle, and goes off to do find Navi when she leaves him in the end.
NOW, before I go on, I'm going to explain why the ending works out. People think that when Link goes back in time after Zelda plays the ocarina, that everything get screwed up cuz the Door of Time gets closed and such. Here's why there is no problem. Zelda sends Link back, yes. But obviously not just Link, because a.) She's playing the damn thing, not Link. And b.) She doesn't play the Song of Time. She plays the Sheikian song that you hear in Kakariko. This is obviously a special song. If you notice, in the end, when Link appears in Zelda's courtyard, he does not have Navi. Meaning that he is on his way to find her, MEANING that Zelda is not in hiding, but in the walls of her castle spying on her father again. Zelda played a song that send HYRULE back in time, but Ganon obviously didn't go because he was locked in the Evil Realm. See? Everything is legitimate. It all works.
Sorry about that, but it's been bugging me for a while. So after he saves Hyrule, he goes to Termina and three days later, Link comes back to find that the King has really f***ed up again, and we fall into LttP. Hello! If Link and Zelda have already met, then why does she introduce herself to him? Then he saves Hyrule again. Goes on some stupid trip to that dumb island. (I hate that game.) He comes back. Zelda is in peril once again. She breaks the Triforce into 9 pieces. (It looks completely different, by the way.) Link saves Hyrule for a fourth time, and then a fifth with Adventures of Link, which was quite frankly, the worst Zelda game I've ever played. I left out the two new games for GBC cuz I haven't played them, but you all know how it goes.
The problem is this. The stories don't work together. All Link ever knew about his parents is that his mother gave him to a tree before she died, and yet somehow, we have an uncle. In the first game, the Triforce is an essence and yet somehow, in LttP, Link can touch it?
Which brings me to this conclusion, which is so damn obvious as the entire theme that strings the games together is in the stupid title. The stories are LEGENDS! They're all different, but similar, and are linked by a few common things. The Triforce, Ganon, Zelda, Link, Hyrule, and so forth. Stories passed around are never told the same. The games, which we all tried to place together, are all the same stories, just told differently.
Now I do admit, MM was a sequel to OoT, as was LA to LttP. But, the stories are not meant to be linked, because they are different versions of the same thing, and only one thing connects them. The Legend of Zelda!
