Sexist
Video games? Well, Yes and No I
wrote Agustín Huambachano an e-mail explaining the case the way
I see it. Yes, I will come out and say it. I prefer playing games with
male hero's saving damsels in distress and such. Why? Because that was
what I was taught as a child. Have you ever read a fairy tale where
the chick saved some helpless guy trapped by and evil woman? No! Men
want to be the guys saving the woman's ass. It makes us feel manly.
However, many women I've met can deal with not having to go out and
fight for their man, not just because they like to be the damsel, but
because society expects women to be a certain way. Well, as simple as that seems, It's not really that easy. The reason I went off into that first paragraph was to show what men want from playing games. Well, video game companies care less about women than men because men play games more than women. It's true. A lot of chicks feel that their time would be better spent talking on the phone and reading Seventeen. This may seem a bit stereotypical, but you know what I mean.
But, that still doesn't change the fact that video games are sexist! |
