The true power of Nintendo

Games nowadays need four things in order to succeed:
- Flashy Graphics
- Perfect Sounds
- At least one 'babe' whose breasts defy gravity and
- Tons and tons of blood

With a lot of bloody games coming out on the market these days it's no wonder that (American) parents cry that these 'evil' games corrupt the fragile souls of their very innocent children. Makes me long for the 'good old days'. Call me a sentimentle old git, but I still think earlier times where better as far as games are concerned. Back then, in the glorydays of the NES, fancy graphics simply weren't possible. Tunes were simple and sometimes headache-causing (although I still find the ending tune of MegaMan 3 the best tune in gaming history). In these days games had to rely on some other things to be a big hit. Storyline, originality and of course fun. And that is something Nintendo has bravely continued to do. Can anyone imagine a game like Mario Party come out on the PSX or DC? No, and why not? Simply because it doesn't aply to the four 'winning points' described earlier. Nintendo might not be the most important company in the gaming industry any more, but when it comes to originality and pure fun they're still and will always be undefeatable.
