Summary

In the midst of the concole wars with Sega, Nintendo released the Super Nintendo in 1991. Little did they know, this console would prove a huge worldwide success, selling over 49 million units. With 16-Bit graphics and ROM cartridges, the SNES proved that despite the Genesis's edgy titles, and groundbreaking graphics, it was the simplicity and gameplay that made a console shine. The Super Nintendo had many legendary games such as Super Mario World, SimCity, and StarFox. The SNES was discontinued from North America in 1999, but its legacy has yet to have left the gaming world.
