Summary
It all started one holiday season when Hiroshi Yamauchi was observing a hanafuda card factory. He saw an employee by the name of Gunpei Yokoi working on the assembly line with an extending arm made out of a latticework of plastic. He asked Gunpei to develop it as a proper product for the holiday rush. Thus, the Ultra Hand was born. It would become one of Nintendo's earliest toy blockbusters, selling over one million units. Gunpei was then pulled out of assembly line work, and placed as a product developer. This is how many of Nintendo's earliest toys came to be, through the magnificent ideas of Gunpei Yokoi.
