NintendoLand Deathmatch summary
Darunia VS. Golem

In Deathmatch Stadium, Mushroom Retainers worked hard to finish the renovations requested just for this battle. Above them, a crowd of thousands of odd spectators from all manner of Nintendo game cheered as the Nintendo anthem was played over the speakers. What is the Nintendo anthem? It will be up to the reader to determine that.
Inside their special booth, Mario and Luigi Mario looked straight into the first camera as they spoke into their personalized microphones.

MARIO: "This is going to be an interesting match this week, isn't it, Luigi?"

LUIGI: "Oh, yeah! Today, battling to what might be the death, are two very unlikely opponents!"

MARIO: "That's right! From Death Mountain, in the land of Hyrule, it's the sage of fire himself, King Darunia!"

The crowd bursts into applause, especially the Gorons, who have banners held over their heads dedicated to him.

LUIGI: "But, fighting against him is one special rock-type Pokémon, ladies and gentlemen, it's a golem named Golem!!
Small sections of the crowd applaud, including some large characters from a Sony Playstation game the others had never heard of.

MARIO: "But, to officially bring in our fighters, let's go ringside to our special guest announcer, Whomp!"
A large, walking stone block with a weird face talks into his microphone with a deep rumbling voice.

WHOMP: "Yes! I am the person made of stone that nobody remembers! What's' the matter with all you people? I ought to smash you all into…"

LUIGI: "Whomp, you're live on the air!"

WHOMP (looking into camera): "Oh, hello, everybody! For this match, the entire arena has been filled with stone, ranging from the tiny gravel to the massive boulders! Soon, we will see what the thousands of coins' worth of renovations will do for the match! In this corner, we have the blazing Goron king who always does his thing! Give it up for Darunia!"
The crowd erupts with cheer as a red flash of light forms into Darunia, with some Gorons and the other five sages around with him. Saria, the sage of Forest, smiled and gave Darunia an encouraging pat on the back.

WHOMP: "And, in this corner, the Pocket Monster with the… err, who never… I can't come up with something cool to say! Anyway, it's Golem!"
Running into the arena, with a Poké-ball in his hand, was Brock, the master of rock-type Pokémon and leader of the Viridian City Pokémon Gym. He released the ball, which popped open, causing a large rocky creature to materialize and dig its way underground before emerging forcefully only a few feet from Darunia. Brock waved to the female sages who were with Darunia, but they ignored him.

WHOMP: "Enough boring stuff! Let's get this match started!"
Whomp ceremonially started the match by pounding the ground with his face. Not many referees did that.

MARIO: "Now, what I don't understand is why these two are fighting."
Golem uses its "rock throw" technique, but Darunia avoids it easily.

LUIGI: "Well, there is the stone thing. Both of them roll into things that look like boulders."
Darunia uses his Goron Roll and Golem prepares to tackle.

MARIO: "I don't know. It's more… WHOA!"
Darunia and Golem rolled into each other at full speed. They fell back. Due to a misstep in his attack, Darunia took a few more seconds tog et up.

BROCK: "Earthquake!"
With Brock's command, Golem pounds into the ground hard enough for the arena to begin shaking. Darunia was knocked back by a wave of stone.

DARUNIA: "How dare you?"
Darunia swung his fist for a Goron fire punch, but Golem withdrew before he could be hit.

MARIO: "Dig, Rock Throw, Tackle, Earthquake, and Withdraw? Pokémon are only supposed to know four moves at one time!"

LUIGI: "Whomp, what do you think about that one?"

WHOMP: "Brock says that withdraw is not one of Golem's attacks. The others, however, are."

MARIO: "Not what I would have picked for attacks."

BROCK: "Golem, go underground!"

Golem did as commanded and dug its way directly underneath Darunia. He had an idea immediately.

DARUNIA: "I will require the legendary hammer!"

A Goron reaches into a bag and tosses Darunia the Megaton Hammer, which Link gave back to the Gorons when he was done with it. This was a powerful weapon of the Gorons'.

LUIGI: "Ladies and gentlemen, Darunia has the Megaton Hammer! This is going to be one intense fight!"

MARIO: "It hasn't been already?"

Darunia swings the hammer t the spot where Golem is hiding, causing it to rise I a state of dizziness and confusion.

DARUNIA: "Here's something else for you! It's fresh from the garden!"

MARIO: "What's he doing?"

Darunia tossed a fresh bomb flower to Golem. Neither Golem nor Brock had anytime to respond before it exploded, sending Golem back into a wall.

BROCK: "Golem! Return!"

MARIO: "Darunia has beaten Golem! Darunia has beaten Golem!"

LUIGI: "That was quite an amazing turnaround!"

MARIO: "Let's go to Whomp for the official results!"

WHOMP: "The winner, like you didn't already know, is Darunia!"

There was big applause. Brock shook Darunia's hand, and then asked for Nabooru's phone number. Darunia smacked him. Saria took out her ocarina and played her favorite song, to which Darunia danced. The Gorons cheered. Another victory for the cast of the Legend of Zelda had been won.

MARIO: "Wasn't that an amazing fight, ladies and gentlemen? I loved it!"

LUIGI: "I especially loved the part in the pie factory, where the little dog was…"

MARIO: "Did you even watch the fight?"

LUIGI: "Some of it."

MARIO: "Well, that's all the intense action for today, so, live from Deathmatch Stadium,, I'm Mario!"

LUIGI: "And I'm Luigi!"

MARIO: "Have a nice day, everyone, and remember to save up for a Nintendo Game Cube!"
