Luigi walked around his backyard peacefully, a comforting wind blowing mildly around him. He stopped and picked out unnecessary weeds along the way, making his already perfect lawn look even nicer. After a few more steps across the grass he sat down near an apple tree, resting calmly in the shade. He looked up at the shiny red fruit hanging above him and picked up a nearby broken branch to knock one off. A few jabs by the branch did the job well enough and soon Luigi was taking a bite through every juicy layer of the apple.
    "Delicious." He thought out loud.
    Luigi took another bite and then heard a disturbing rustle in the distance beside him. He looked to his left and there, moving through an area of bushes was a very weary looking Toad. His face a pale green and his movements shaky and painful.
    Luigi threw his apple down and watched as Toad cringed starkly and fell to the ground in a heap. Luigi rushed over to him with worry in his eyes.
    "Toad!"
    "TOAD, what's wrong?!"
    Luigi stopped at where Toad had fallen and kneeled down with caution. He carefully grabbed Toad by the waist and turned him onto his back. Toad looked so awful, his skin frail and damaged, his face drained and sorrowful. Luigi began to panic.
    "Toad!"
    "TOAD!!"
    Toad didn't move.
    Luigi stood up, utterly shocked and on the verge of crying.
    Toad's heart had stopped beating.
    Toad was dead.
