These old veterans have like the piranha plants been in most of the Mario games. They haven´t evolved that much between the games but some has grown wings and in SMB3 a new tiny version of the Goomba was introduced.
Bubble
Goombas
These Goombas floats around inside bubbles but when they collide with an obstacle they fall out and starts to act like ordinary Goombas.
Flying
Goombas
![]()
These have wings and flies around and attacks by diving at Mario. These loses their wings after one stomp and turns into a normal goomba. Some of these produce Microgoombas.
Giant
Goombas
These Huge Goombas may be huge but one single stomp is enough for the to vanish. They live in the Giant Land.
Microgoombas
These small bastards is produced by special flying goombas when they finds Mario they climbs around on him, dramatically increasing his ability to jump, making him an easy prey for other enemies nearby.
Super
Microgoombas
These goombas lives in ordinary blocks, jumping around on the courses inside the blocks.
Parachuting
Goombas
These goombas attacks Mario from the sky, falling down on him in parachutes.
Kuribo´s
Goomba
These Goombas are one of the most rare and strangest enemies of all Mario games! It has got them self one of Kuribo´s big shoes. If you get rid of them in normal fashion both they and their shoe will disappear but by jumping under a block which they stand on, only the Goomba will die but leaving the shoe standing for Mario´s use. With this shoe Mario can jump on absolutely everything included Piranha Plants, but sadly, it will only last til the end of the course!
