When you complete
Donkey Kong Country 2 you get "Hero Points" that are then
compared to other heroes' Hero Points. The other heroes are: Mario,
Yoshi and Link.
If you don't collect many hero points, Mario, Yoshi, and Link will
all be on stage. However, if you collect a lot of hero points the
first time through the game (before beating it), Mario will get bumped
off and you won't be able to see him. NOTE: Also appearing in that
screen shot, in front of the stage, are Sonic's boots, Earthworm Jim's
blaster, and what I believe to be Link's sword, all sitting next to
a trash can, as if they are being thrown away.
