Quick facts:
This time Mario is the one who gets kidnapped!

The intro shows how Mario is being kidnapped by Bowser. In the SNES version Mario, Luigi and Yoshi stands outside Bowser's castle when a big hole opens up under Mario's feet and Mario disappears. Luigi enters Bowser's castle to find out what has happened to his brother.
In the NES version some kind of mean green dinosaur comes and throws a big bag over our poor Mario and kidnaps him.
Bother version begin inside Bowser's Castle. Luigi finds himself in a big hall with multiple doors. Each door is a gateway to a famous city on earth, that Luigi must travel to. The first door leads to Rom, Italy where among other things the roof for the Sistine Chapel is missing (!).
The first thing Luigi have to do is to go around and talk to the people on the streets to try and figure out what town he is in. When he finds out he calls for Yoshi. Yoshi appears on a Super Mario World style World map and you must guide Yoshi to the right city. Once you have got Yoshi to the town that you are in you can ride on his back.
Bowser's infamous Koopa Troopas is roaming the streets and if you jump on them they either just vanish or if are lucky they will leave behind one of the missing artifacts that has been stolen by Bowser. A odd thing is that you can't die even if you are hit by one of the Koopa Troopas. They just walk right past you minding their own business.
When you have found e.g. The roof of the Sistine Chapel you go to the information house/travel centre located close to the Sistine Chapel. Here you find Daisy who complains about that the roof of the chapel is missing. She shows you a pamphlet of information about the Sistine Chapel that you should read. You can then choose to return the artifact, but to prove that the artifact is genuine you must answer some questions about the Sistine chapel. Now you had better read that pamphlet carefully so that you get all the questions right. if you give the correct answers to all of Daisy's questions you can return the artifact and get your reward. The are a total number of three artifact in each town that you must find and return.
Other famous places that you will visit is:
The Statue of Liberty, The Trevi Fountain, The Colosseum, The Forbidden City, The Golden Gate bridge and The Nairobi National Park.
In this game Luigi gets a chance to prove that he also can stand up to Bowser when he´s needed.
Surprisingly good for being a edutainment title.
