Quick facts:
Mario appears as a music note in the music section of the game.

Mario Paint was released in 1992 together with a two button mouse. With Mario Paint you can not only paint but also animate your pictures (it was rather limited, though because it only could use 9 frames) and put different stamps on it.
You can also compose your own music by positing different icons on a note sheet, like a duck, a Mushroom etc. Each of these icons generated a unique sound and with this simple method you could make some pretty awesome pieces of music that then could be save on the cart.
There was also a little game in the cart that involved smashing different flies and bees with a flyswatter! Mario doesn´t appear to much in this game except from in the intro and as a musical note in the music section and on some of the already-made pictures.
