"When war overtook the entire planet, some thought the true end had come. However, some saw this end as a beginning when they realized a group of people had acquired magical abilities once considered legendary. Tamalic, was one of these few. He and his fellow magicians had not only survived the war, but gained new magical powers that let them bring back life to the scorched planet. Not all the magicians that entered the new dawn of magic spent their energies restoring life to the world..."
The beginning cut scene is great! It really gets you into it. You are one of the two legendary sleeping warrior-magicians. Four magicians have taken you from your sleep to save the planet from the evil magician, Dragonia. You will have to find the four powerful swords and join them to create the ultimate sword, Crystalis. The only thing that can stop Dragonia.
The gameplay is just like Zelda gameplay. But in this game, you can power up your sword and shoot a projectile. There are four swords which each are made of a certain element. Certain swords are good against certain enemies. As in most RPG's, you can buy stuff. You can buy normal items from the Item Shop, Armor and shields from the Armor shop, and you can sell stuff at the Pawn Shop. You learn 8 spells in the game, such as "refresh" and the "Change" spell. The refresh heals you from poison, petrification, etc. The Change spell you can turn to 4 different forms of people. Sometimes some people will react in a different way and may give you something depending on what form you are.

The hero and the five magicians

The graphics are very good. Especially the cutscenes. The sound in the game is wonderful. They have added Digitized speech. You actually hear somebody say something for ex :"Sword of Fire!". And for the controls, they are easily mastered.
I personally loved the game! I have to admit it gets frustrating sometimes, but keep trying. But in what RPG do you get to ride a dolphin? Or use a spell that changes you into another person (Well, I haven't played any). Overall, if you own a GBC, and like RPG's, GET THIS NOW! - Cyrus 93%
