ABugs Bunny Crazy Castle 3 Review
By Brian Cimmino
This is the revised copy. There are pictures attached.
Bugs Bunny Crazy Castle 3 80%
A fun game in which you face your favorite looney tunes characters!
Bugs Bunny Crazy Castle 3 is a different and challenging game. It will
take a long time to beat. It has 4 worlds with 15 stages each. That is
a total of 60 stages! One day, Bugs Bunny finds an ancient book in an
antique shop. The book read "Somewhere in the Old Castle, there's a
treasure that will bring great happiness to its finder." Bugs goes to
the old Castle to find the treasure, but Witch Hazel has cast a spell on
the other looney tunes characters to help her stop Bugs Bunny from
finding the treasure.
In each stage of the four worlds Crazy Castle 3, you play as Bugs Bunny
and have to
collect eight keys in order to go through the locked so you can beat the
level. You can
collect keys by going through doors. Bugs can pick up items like bombs
and carrots. A
big problem is that if Bugs gets hit by an enemy, poof! He is dead.
This can be annoying. It is not like Mario where you shrink or like in
Zelda where you loose a heart. Instead, Bugs can throw anvils or leave
bombs to kill an enemy. Another disadvantage is that Bugs Bunny cannot
jump. He has to avoid his enemies by killing them or running away from
them. The only way he can jump is if he lands on a spring or "Jump
Floor." This is what makes Crazy Castle 3 challenging. When I was
playing stage 3, I knew what I had to do yet I couldn't do it because I
kept having to run away from Daffy Duck. After a while, Crazy Castle 3
can get boring, but is still fun to play in a game with the looney tunes
characters.
A good thing about Crazy Castle 3 is that when you press pause, you can
look around
the whole level, which isn't that large. You can go from place to place
in a level by
powerups, which transport you from one end of the level to another.
Like in Mario
games, you go through pipes to go to different parts of the level.
Unlike most games, you do not necessarily move to the right as you
progress through a stage, but you can move up, down, right, or left to
beat the level. Also, there is a password for every stage that
you beat. Cool!
Kemco did a nice job on looney tunes characters. Bugs Bunny and the
other
characters look sharp and colorful. However, the backgrounds are the
same for all the
stages in each world. It looks boring after a while. Crazy Castle 3 is
pretty colorful
though. The sounds in Crazy Castle 3 are louder than usual for Game Boy
Color. It is
hard to hear the sounds in Link Awakening Dx without headphones. The
midis are
all right. There are not too many sounds in Crazy Castle 3.
