On a stormy night, Banjo and friends are playing cards. They hear a noise outside, so Mumbo goes out to investigate. Blobella and Mingella, Gruntilda's sisters, use used their dark magic to get rid of the boulder that Grunty was trapped under. After witnessing this, Mumbo runs back to Banjo's house and tries to warn every one that Gruntilda is back. Bottles doesn't believe him and stays in the house while Banjo, Kazooie and Mumbo run out. Gruntilda hurls a magic spell towards the house. It hits and Bottles is killed. With that Banjo and Kazooie set out on their newest adventure.

The graphics in Banjo Tooie are incredible. You can see all the way across
the worlds without fail. There are tons of real-time lighting and realistic
shadows. And get this; the game doesn't even use the Expansion Pak! There is
a downside to the wonderful graphics though. The framerate is sometimes very
slow is some of the larger areas, but it doesn't take away from the gameplay
at all.
The sound in BT is incredible. The music matches the
worlds perfectly. (i.e. the music in Mayan Temple has chanting and jungle
sounds.) The music also changes during the game to match the area you are in.
When you read the text that the characters are saying,
you hear sounds that match the character.(i.e. When Gruntilda, the witch is
talking you hear witch cackles and when Jamjars, the Sergeant mole is talking
you hear
well Armyish mole sounds.)
There are many collectables to flush out in BT. The main items that you must collect are the jigsaw
pieces or Jiggies for short. There are various ways to obtain them (solving puzzles, helping other characters out, etc). There are 10 in each
world. You also collect music notes. 1 music note is worth 5 notes, and treble clefs are
worth 20 notes. You give the music notes to Jamjars, Bottles's drill sergeant brother, in exchange for lessons on how to perform your new moves.
There are 5 different kinds of eggs that Kazooie can shoot: Blue eggs, fire eggs, grenade eggs,
ice eggs and Clockwork Kazooie eggs.
There are two types of feathers, red(used for flying) and gold(for temporary invincibilty). There are many pads such as Split-Up Pads, Mumbo Pads and
flying Pads (red feathers required) . There are also 4 kinds of shoes that give you special powers.

There are many different playable characters in the game. You can play as Banjo
and Kazooie, Banjo by himself, Kazooie by herself and Mumbo. Also there is a
transformation in each world.(i.e. A T-Rex in Terrrydactly Land.) Humba Wumba
turns you into them.
The jiggy puzzles range from incredibly easy, to very
hard. To earn some jiggies you must do certain things in different worlds. (i.e.
feeding a tribe of hungry cavemen in Terrydacty Land by stealing food from Witchyworld.)
There are 9 worlds- Mayan Temple, Glitter Gulch Mine, Witchyworld, Jolly Roger's Lagoon, Terrydacty Land, Grunty Industries, Hailfire Peaks, Cuckoo Cloud Land and Cauldron Keep.
There are some paths that link the worlds together. Also there is a train named Chuffy who will take you from one world to another. In each world, there are warp pads that link different areas of the world together. Unlike the Banannaport pads in DK64, the warp pads take you to any of the other pads you have stepped on.

The game is very addictive. There are so many things
to do. It's also fun exploring the worlds and admiringing the the rich detail of each of
them. There are also many humorous (and sometimes disgusting) moments in
the game.
The game also features a multiplayer mode and a replay
mode. The games in multiplayer range from first person shooter levels
to the Tower of Tragedy quiz. In the replay mode you can replay any of the minigames, and battle any of the bosses
you have already beaten in one player mode. You can also watch the cinema scenes.
In my opinion this is the best N64 game yet. If you love platforms or
action/ adventure this game is for you. I recommend this game to everyone. -
