Everyone's favorite gorilla is back is a whole new game. It's Donkey Kong 64 and it's one of the best games on N64! It's the first game to require the expansion pak. Don't have one? Don't worry it is included with the game.

The game starts out with King K. Rool capturing all of the Kongs (except for DK) and stealing the golden banana hoard. It's up to DK to save the others. As DK you go through Crank's training ground and learn all of the basic moves. Then you go to K. Lumsy, a giant kremling who is in jail. You decide to help him and then the first world opens - Jungle Japes.

The graphics for this game are great! The characters are not as blocky as they were for earlier games. The worlds are beautiful. The worlds are huge! They are about twice as big as the ones in Banjo Kazooie. There are many small details. Rare did a good job of using the expansion pak. There is tiny bit of slowdown sometimes though. The game has pretty good sound too.

The game has good control. You can perform lots of moves by pressing different buttons. The camera is very good except for the few times when it doesn't follow you as close as you would want it to. You use the top c button to get a first person view, but you cannot walk around in it.

There are 201 golden bananas that you have to collect. Some of them are very easy and some of them are very hard. To see the special ending you need to collect 101% of all the items. The game has medium level difficulty. There are also some codes that you can get by taking pictures of Banana Fairies.

There are 5 playable characters - DK, Diddy, Lanky, Tiny, and Chunky. Each character has a set of moves. There are 8 different worlds - Jungle Japes, Angry Aztec, Frantic Factory, Gloomy Galleon, Fungi Forest, Crystal Caves, Creepy Castle and Hideout Helm. IN each world there are things called Bananaporters. They are like portals. There are 10 in each world. (1 takes you to 1, 2 takes you to 2, etc.)
Cranky gives you potions that give you new moves, Funky gives you fruit guns and Candy gives you musical instruments. The minigames in the game are fun. Some of them are real easy and some of them are very hard (Beaver Bother!).
Overall this is one of the best games for N64. If you don't have it suggest you should get it. I can't wait to see what Banjo Tooie is going to be like. - diddykong 98%
