The legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask takes place after The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. While looking Navi in the lost woods, the skull kid (who is wearing the evil Majora's Mask) steals your ocarina and takes Epona. You follow him into a trap and you are turned into a deku scrub. You play the 3 days (1 real minute equals 1 hour of there normal time (there are songs to slow or skip time)) over and over until you beat the game. The moon crashes at the end of the final day, because of the skull kid. You play until you get your ocarina so you can go back in time and play the 3 days without losing all your stuff. (You still lose all cash, arrows, bombs, etc.) in this time you must free all 4 of the giants, so they can help you defeat the skull kid. The giants are trapped in the bodies of the 4 bosses at the end of the woodfall temple, the snowhead temple, the great bay temple, and the stone tower temple.

The games feature that separates it from the ocarina of time is the masks. In this game you collect 24 different masks, each with its own unique effect. (Ex: bunny hood makes you run faster.) 4 of these masks actually transform you into whatever the mask resembles. These masks are the Deku Mask, the Goron Mask, the Zora Mask, and the Fierce Deity's Mask (witch can only be used in boss battles, and turns you into a really cool lookin' adult link with a Huge sword that can fire energy disks when you slash with Z-targeting).

You also are on a mission to make the 20 main people of clock town happy. Don't buy a guide for this game, you get a 'Bomber's Notebook' (no its not a book that you get with the game, its actually part of the game itself) witch helps you know when to go where. The fact that the people actually have a life and don't just stand in the same spot eternally is what makes this an expansion pack requiring game. Also it's the luck of being in the right place at the right time. They even have a little clock at the bottom of the screen to tell you what the game time is. This is VERY handy.

Weird cut-scenes a'la Majora's Mask...
But there is a reason this game is not getting a 100%. There are two downsides. The lesser of witch is the fact that you learn less songs, and the songs (not there functions) aren't as good as in Ocarina of Time. There are only so many songs you can make with D, F, A, B and high D. Ocarina, coming out first go the pick of the litter, Majora's Mask frankly, got the 'leftovers'.

Bow and arrow!
The second and worst of the two things, is the fact that is just too dang short. There are only 4 temples, but getting to the temple should be counted as a temple on how are it is, in witch case you get 8. But the final straw was the fact that without the Fierce Deity's Mask, I beat the final boss on my first try. Even though there are 24 masks its still not enough. Some masks are extremely easy to get as well, (ex: Bremen Mask, just talk to the windmill guy at night. (he isn't really a windmill guy anymore, but that's the way we know and love him.)) If you use the Fierce Deity's Mask on the boss he is SO simple, as in not one fairy used.
In summary, the game is great! Buy this game if you like the Zelda series in the slightest. It may be a bit short, but it makes up for it in so may different ways. Two thumbs UP! - Richard Lester 97%
