3 years ago Rareware made another terrific game. Goldeneye, the game that revoloutionised 1st person shooters. A game that gamers around the world played like they worked for MI6. A game that provided hilarious cheats. A game that needed a sequel.
3 years later, gamers prayers around the world were answered. Rare made a sequel. As everyone looked on to see Bond, they saw something else, Joanna Dark. Anyway, to the review.

In this game, you take control of the agent Joanna Dark, codenamed Perfect Dark. The story is rather strange, so I won't bother explaining it.
The graphics of PD are some of the greatest ever. Occasionally the frame rate is a bit of a worry, but it is the biggest flaw in the game, as it is only in the fabulous Co-Op mode and four player multiplayer with simulants, but I'll go into both of those later. The characters are well made, they look quite realistic. PD, unlike GE, has reload animations. Proper ones, not just putting it down and picking it up. The CMP150 and the Devastator are some of the favourites for animations. Cut-scenes are also in the game, at the beginning, end, and sometimes the middle of a mission. Everything looks absoloutely stunning in the cutscenes.

The sound in this game is absoloutely incredible. The voices are clear, and the sound effects are amazing. The guns sounds are very good, a magnum sounds like a magnum does. The shotgun gives a good BOOF! And fictional weapons like the Farsight XR-20(alien weapon) makes a sort of energy blast sound. The other sound effects, such as the guards screaming for mercy, or insulting you, or the lights sending off sparks if you shoot them, are very realistic. The music is great, suiting where you are. E.g, In the practise area(Your work building) it has an office music. But don't expect Zelda: OoT quality music.

The options are many. You can have a Co-op mode(Favourite for 1st Person Shooters) where you and a friend go in the 1 player missions. Also a counter-op mode which lets a friend take control of a guard and has to stop you completing the mission. Very funny.

The graphics are stunning, and if you're not careful, you're eyes will pop out. Joanna's face is very detailed, as with all the others. The drone guns make a comeback from Goldeneye, but seem to be harder in PD. My favourite thing to do is go on the hoverbike. Nothing like shooting people from a hoverbike, makes you feel like you're in M:I-2!

Combat Simulator is the multiplayer section of PD. If you're a person without a friend (my sorrows to you) you can still play Multiplayer! How? You have the option of Simulants. They can be on your team or another team, and can have special personalities. Like the JudgeSim goes for the player who's winning, or the PeaceSim will not fight. This multiplayer is tops!

The levels are well thought out. The first one is a skyscraper filled with guards, the second the research section of the skyscaper, and the third getting out of the skyscraper.

This is a great game for anyone who's parent's would let them buy it. It is by far the best game I've ever played. - TheNguy 99%
