Ahhhhh…. Zelda: The Ocarina of Time. (Now there's a reason we had to wait 3 years for this to come out..)This may be a late review but a review that this game deserves! Zelda toot, comes from a long line of high polished games. In 1984, it struck Nintendo with fame that lasted like Mario. In this adventure, the game starts out astounding you with graphics, at its time, that could make you cry. You see a young boy, who is none other than your courageous hero, Link, a boy of a tribe of kids called Kokiri. Link, is tormented with a dream, of him standing in front of a large castle, and a woman riding a white horse, and young girl in her arms. Link, turns, and faces an evil looking guy on a black horse. As soon as he wakes up, he is sent to the almighty deku tree, the grandfather, of his time, the kokiri. He is suddenly plunged into a dangerous quest, and the Deku tree gives him the kokiri's emerald along with the story of the tri-force. Link is sent on a quest to make sure the evil man from his dreams, gannondorf, can never touch the sacred tri-force of power, and at the same time will save Hyrule. Link is thrown into a tremendous plot with twists and turns, each turn containing a puzzle, or a monster!
The gameplay is almost perfect! It has, to my knowledge, the best camera ( your view of Link and the game) on the market. It's uses the top three C buttons to use items and weapons of his/her choice. Link moves at a pace that is not hard to handle, and not to slow that it takes you 3 minutes to get across a room. Z targeting, a new implement of Myamato's, is very good for facing the enemy, and not having to turn around a billion times to find it is a big help.

The graphics of this game are more than just great. They are better than some of the games that have recently come out. Myamato uses textures and shadowing, instead of just making the game higher resolution. The color's aren't off whack, either. The grass isn't always fully green, with some dirt ruts, and the grass isn't a light colored green everywhere, because the colors have been varied to the right contrast. Also, the game has depth in mind. Hyrule field is huge, with hills that you can crest, giving you a different view of Hyrule each time. The town's have windows, each one articulately given a depth. Details on trees and rocks, The Graphics make it feel like a real world.

Another great element of Zelda toot is side quests. From selling masks to planting beans, it's all enjoyable. Race around on a horse at Lon Lon ranch. Sing on your Ocarina for the frogs in the river. Even when I'm done with the game there will always be the challenge of finding 100 golden skulltula spiders!
If You own a N64 and have not played this wonderful game, You're missing out on what EGM magazine called " The best game of the century." - Wing Zero 99.9%
