REVIEW: Baseball Stars 1989 NES

Everybody is familiar with baseball . When I was young , I used to play a game called "Baseball Stars" and who would've thought that I would stil be playing it 10 years later ! . It's definitely one of the best NES game that I've ever played . There are a few different modes in this game : exhibition , league and create team . You can also see the roster of the team that are already in the game . There are 8 teams in this game, including a female team : the "Lovely Ladies".

The gameplay is pretty good for an NES game . You can dive and jump to catch the ball, and you can also climb on the wall ! It's not too dificult to beat the computer if you get used to the controls . It's easy to score a homerun when there is a poor pitcher on the pitcher's mound . Believe me, you will enjoy the gameplay.

The best option is to create you own team ( you can choose a name , a logo) You also have the option of choosing the specific type of team that you want ( such types include: veterans , good hitters , good pitchers , etc.) . After that, you have to name your players and then you can play with your team . It's difficult at the beginning but, whenever you win a game, you will earn money and that can boost your player's stats . This is why it's fun : some player have 60 points maximum while others have 80 . After you have won some games , you will be able to play against any team .

With all of these different modes, I can easily say that this is the best baseball game on the NES . Even if there are a few notable flaws , the rest of the game is otherwise perfect . Baseball Stars is a must have for all NES owners and baseball fans alike. - Bruno Boudreau 91%
