The japanese Smb2 is almost identical to SMB1 and nintendo didn´t thought that it was good enough for the western market. In later it came to to USA and Europe in the "Mario-game package" Super Mario Allstars (SNES) and was then titled SMB The Lost Levels. The Japanese SMB2 can be described as "a new much harder SMB1". SMB2 the lost levels is also the only Mario game (except from european SMB2) where the choice of Mario or Luigi really matters more than for looks. Here Luigi can jump higher than his fat brother, Mario on the other hand is much more flexible than Luigi. A game for SMB1 freaks that want more! - Mattias Liedholm 92%
