The sequal to the original Tetris. Very interesting...It's different from Tetris. So if you think it will be just like the original, think again. It has a new objective and just does not seem to match it's predecessor. Maybe it is because it does not have the Arabian theme like Tetris.
There are three play modes, 1 Player, 1 vs 2 Player, and 1 vs Com. The main objective is to clear all the blocks that flash, unlike Tetris where you clear all the blocks. Once you clear them, it's over. As in Tetris, you move around a blocks that are different shapes and you line up colors. Such as blue to blue, red to red. Once 3 of the same colors are side by side, they disappear. If you blocks get stacked up too high and hit the top, GAME OVER.
There are some new block types in the game, but I can't really describe them. Some have a added "single" block stiking to the side, once a side hits another block, the other side you can move freely. (hard to explain) So if a big block can't make it through a tight space, see if you can get one single block and guide it on it's journey. Another new feature is a rare, solid color 1x4 block that if you get it onto a block that has it's color, all of that color blocks disappear! Such as all red blocks are totally gone.

In 1 vs 2 Player, you go against a friend. What you have to do is the same thing, clear the flashing blocks. Whoever finishes first wins. But, there are some more obstacles in this mode, when the other person clears a flashing block, your block the you control at the time goes plomiting to the ground. Making it hard to get it where you need it. But also, you have a "curtain" that lowers also, limiting how high your blocks can go. And of coarse, it makes you lose when a block touches it. 1 vs Com is the same style.
The graphics are pretty good for the NES. The sound also is good. But does not have that "Tetris theme" to it.
Tetris fans might like this. For the new style and features. But for the same reasons might dislike. It doesn't feel Tetrisy enough. There is something different... - Cyrus 82%
