Killer Instinct is one of the best fighting
games ever made for the SNES system. Enhanced 32 bit graphics, over 10 characters
to choose from and some great gameplay! The moves are pretty simple and are
the same for every character: Back back forward and hit a letter on the controller.
There is a setting for each fighter, like Sabreworlf fights in a mansion, Orchid
fights on the top of a building and so on. This game was made in 1994 and showed
impressive graphics for it's time.
There are not many negatives about this game, except
for the fact that the last boss is ver hard but every game
should have that. I guess since it is rated for mature audiences only, that
is a down but there isn't much gore when you play.
One other downside to this game is that the endings
for each character are very bad. Example: When you beat the game withRiptor,
all you see are Riptors running on the streets and you see text saying: Riptors
got out of controlled and rule the city. That's worse then some Arcade games!
I also think they could of had a better intro then just the Nintendo logo spinning
around with all it's 32 bits.
Storyline: There is a big corporation called Ultratech
who has gathered up many fighters for the ultimate fight. They created Fulgore,
the second to last boss and kidnapped fighters such as Glacius and forced them
to fight. Every character has a unique story to them and by not doing anything
the first minute of the game, you see each fighters profile. I guess the storyline
is a little weaker then Street Fighter or Mortal Kombat but it's the gameplay
and graphics that this game thrived on.
I highly recommend this game to video game players who
loved Street Fighter or Mortal Kombat because this has a little of everything.
The moves are like Street Fighter, easy to do and the graphics and gore come
from Mortal Kombat. - Tommy T Papain
