REVIEW: Unirally 1994 SNES

 Two unicycles racing around on dull looking courses and simple backgrounds, can that be any good?! Yes! a matter of fact it can.... The graphics isn´t this games strongest card but that isn´t a problem because when you play Uni Rally doesn´t have time to look at some background or pretty graphics because the game is so extremely fast! You take control over an unicycle and races against either another CPU controlled unicycle or a friend. By jumping up in the air and performing various stunts and combinations like: spin, twister city, flips and tabletops your unicycle´s speed will increase and the more difficult the stunt is the higher the speed will be. You have 4 cups each with 5 courses each to master. Most of the courses are just about racing and come first over the finshline but some courses are "stunt courses" which means that you drive around in a small arena and gets points for performed stunts. On these courses there are a given score that you must beat.

It takes long time to learn all the different stunts and combinations and last but not least all the courses, so that you know where the various obstacles like clay and stuff are placed and where the free open spaces where you can safely perform your stunt are. this is the main drawback of the game because it can easily get boring to try to memmorise all the games around 20 courses but on the other hand it makes this game a real challenge with long last ability. The 2 player mode is a welcome option in Uni racer as it´s many times more fun racing against a friend than an boring and predictable computer. All in all Uni Rally is a new fresh SNES title that I recomend to racing fans that have got bored of all the F1 and Go Kart racing games and wan´t to try something new and special. - Mattias Liedholm 87%
