ScreenshotWorms. The premise of taking tiny annelids out and blowing them up sounds like fun on paper, but when you actually go out and do it, boy will it bring a smile to your face. It has the same boyish humor (if you will) as frying ants with a magnifying glass but done on a much grander (and infinitely more fun) scale. From banana bombs to sheep, the fun just does not stop. Trust me, if you have any sick humor, even buried deep inside, it will show its head and have you laughing. Even after a few months, you still end up with a few situations that just pull a laugh out of your lungs.

You begin with a team of four worms and you can face up to three separate teams. You have many options before you start. One is having your worms placed randomly, or in teams on a 2D board. You can select which weapons are allowed and how much ammunition. Once play begins you have one simple mission, be the last one remaining while blowing the other annelids sky high and that is where the fun comes in.

You are given an assortment of weapons of destruction. From dragon punches to shrapnel laden grenades, you have many weapons. Blow them up, light them up, shoot them off the screen or drown them, just get rid of them. The weapons, the sounds and the animations are all well thought out and cleverly done.  The battlefield is rather simplistic, but in all it does the job well. Although the playing field itself is 2D, you have many levels of height, which is ever changing as dynamite sticks, and air strikes and much more demolishes the land.

As much fun as the one player game is, Worms truly shines when you have a group of friends. They just bring better AI and more fun. Nothing can compare to taking out a friend. One of the best memories I have of this game was when it was just a friend and myself alive, we were in a pit with no escape. I planted a stick of dynamite on his worm and sat there. Sure I was dead too, but I new I did not die in vain.

From the sound effects and music to the graphics and replayability this is just one great game. One that I will happily recommend.

The Airstrike claims another victim (or two)...

If there were one downside to the game it would be the control when firing your weapons. With ever-changing wind factor it will take some time with a steep learning curve to finally be able to pin point where you want some of your weapons to go.
All in all though, you will laugh, you will cry, you will definitely want to pick this one up. - Rob Quinton 91%
