Biggoron Sword The process of getting the Biggoron's sword is a long and tiring Trading Game which will leave you running all over Hyrule field. To let you know, you can get this powerful sword before you enter the Forest Temple if you want. The first item you will obtain is the Pocket Cuckoo egg. As adult Link, the chicken Lady will give it to you. Wait through the night till morning for it to hatch (just like the egg Malon gives to you near the beginning of the game). Go into the Fat Ladies' house and you'll see Talon sleeping on one of the beds. Wake him up with the Pocket Cuckoo, and then take it back to the Chicken Lady. She'll then take back the Pocket Cuckoo and give you a bright blue Cuckoo named Kojiro. According to her, it used to belong to her brother. You'll find her brother sleeping in the Lost Woods. To get to him go left one from the entrance and you'll see him sleeping by a stump. Wake him up with Kojiro and he'll become very happy in an unusual way because he thinks you're a nice guy. He'll then take Kojiro and send you to the potion shop in Kakariko village. Be careful though, the Mushroom will spoil in a certain amount of time so you need to quickly get to Kakariko village. Tip: If you go into the next area of the Lost Woods where you can see the bridge leading to Hyrule field, you can shave off a few seconds if you've planted a magic bean on the soft spot of soil as a kid and then ride the bean plant to the bridge. If you go up the stairs in Kakariko village leading to the Death Mountain trail entrance, the potion shop will be on the right. But, this isn't the right potion shop. Go to the left of the counter in the store and out the back door of the shop. Then, go up the stairs you find there and you'll see a door leading to another potion shop. The old blind woman in there will take your mushroom and turn it into the Strongest Medicine in the world. Go back to where you would find the strange man who took Kojiro and he will no longer be there. Instead, the little Kokiri girl, Somi, will be standing there. Give her the medicine and she will give you the Poacher's saw that the man left behind. Now, go to Gerudo valley to the see the master builder. Note: The bridge leading across the deep valley will be broken so you'll need Epona to jump across the bridge unless you've got the Longshot. Show the master builder the saw and he'll make a donkey sound with his voice (I think it's the most hilarious thing on the whole game because I think it sounds like the mix between a donkey's bray and someone kicking the bucket). He'll say the ax is his and he'll give you the broken hilt of a Biggoron's sword. Go up to the very peak of Death Mountain and talk to Biggoron. He'll take the broken weapon to repair but in return you'll have to go to King Zora to get some eye-drops because the eruption the other day irritated Biggoron's eyes. He'll send you on your way with a prescription to Zora's Domain. If you haven't already unfrozen King Zora from the red ice with blue fire, then go to the young man's potion shop first and buy a bottle of it. (Be careful, it's expensive. If I remember correctly, it's worth 300 rupees.) Show King Zora the prescription and he'll just end up apologizing to you because he doesn't have any eye-drops at the moment. But he will give you an eyeball frog to take to the scientist in the laboratory at Lake Hylia to be made into Biggoron's eye-drops. Hurry to Lake Hylia fast though because the Eyeball Frog is just like the Odd Mushroom, it can spoil. Ride Epona over to Lake Hylia and give the frog to the scientist. He will create the eye-drops and tell you that they need to stay at a cool temperature. If you take too long getting to Biggoron the eye-drops will lose their cool temperature and you'll have to start over. Make it to Biggoron and give him the eye-drops. He'll feel better again and will agree to making your sword. He gives you a claim check because his work isn't very consistent and you'll have to wait a few days. Wait about 4 days (keep playing the Sun's song to make time go by faster) and then show the claim check back to Biggoron. He'll have your new Biggoron's sword finished and ready to go. The sword is powerful but extremely heavy and difficult to use. Link must hold the sword with both hands and can't use his shield at the same time. P.S. Biggoron will let you keep the claim check as a souvenir. << Previous ~Next >> |
