Getting Epona Go to Lon Lon Ranch now and you'll find that it is no longer called Lon Lon Ranch but is in fact called Ingo Ranch now. You'll find Ingo outside the gates to the corral during the daytime wearing some fancy clothes (only considered fancy in Hyrule). He'll ask you if you want to ride one of the horses for ten rupees. Answer yes and he'll let you in. Don't waste any of your time on the sorry brown horse. Pull out your Ocarina and play Epona's song. Epona will run toward you and let you mount. Ride her around and jump over the two barricades to get back your ten rupees you paid to Ingo. When time's up, Ingo will kick you out of the corral. Talk to Ingo again he'll let you ride the horse for 10 rupees again. Accept his offer and play the song again to call Epona to you. Mount her again but this time trot over to where Ingo's standing and talk to him using Z targeting while on horseback. He'll say you're getting better and will challenge you to a race around the corral. The wager will be fifty rupees so whatever you do, don't lose because losing fifty rupees is pretty depressing. Ingo always gets a better start than you do but you can still beat him easily with Epona. Tip: When racing, use all your carrots except one and when you're waiting for them to fill back up then they'll restock much faster than if you used all of them up. Note: You can use the other horse to race against Ingo but it's pretty hard to win and you don't anything but fifty rupees for it so just stick with racing with Epona instead of the ugly brown horse. After you beat Ingo, he'll get embarrassed and challenge you to race again, this time he'll give you Epona if you win. Beat him again and he'll once again go into his state of utter embarrassment. He'll get an evil grin on his face as he comes up with the idea to lock you up in Lon Lon Ranch. Just laugh at his stupidity because with Epona, you can easily jump over the walls of Lon Lon Ranch with her. You now have Epona. You can call her using Epona's song if you're in Hyrule Field, Lon Lon Ranch, Lake Hylia, or Gerudo's Valley. |
