Great Fairy Locations Throughout The Ocarina of Time, you will come upon hidden fountains in which reside the Great Fairies. In order to meet them, you must go up in front of their fountains and stand on the Crest of the Royal family of Hyrule which is the Triforce symbol. There, you'll have to play Zelda's Lullaby in order to call upon the Great Fairies from within the fountain. When they talk to you, they'll refill your life and magic, and will either give you a special technique or power advancement or give you a magic spell.
GREAT FAIRY OF POWER
She is the leader of all the Great Fairies in Hyrule. You can't call upon any other Great Fairies until you've visited this one. As young Link, climb to the top of Death mountain and her residence is in the sealed cave to the left of Gaebora (I'm pretty sure that's the owl's name). Blow up the sealed entrance with a bomb and enter the Great Fairy's chamber. After talking to the Great Fairy of Power, you'll receive the Spinning Sword Technique, and a magic meter. To use the Sword Technique, charge up the sword by holding B and then let go to release an arc of energy in every direction. You can also use a less powerful but efficient sword spin by rotating the control stick once and pressing B.
GREAT FAIRY OF WISDOM
This fairy resides in the fiery volcano of Death Mountain. You'll find her by breaking the rocks in front of her chamber with the Megaton Hammer. Go in and talk to her. She'll upgrade your magic meter so that you'll have twice as much as before.
GREAT FAIRY OF COURAGE
You'll find this fairy as adult Link right outside Ganon's castle. There's a huge, stone pillar in the way of the entrance so you'll have to get the Golden Gauntlets from the Shadow room in Ganon's Castle in order to lift this pillar out of the way. After getting rid of the pillar, go in and talk to the Great Fairy of Courage. She'll increase your defensive abilities meaning she'll make it so you can take twice the damage you used to take.
GREAT FAIRIES OF MAGIC
These Great Fairies will give you magic spells to use in your quest.
1. As young Link, go to the dead end at Hyrule castle and blow up the rock there. A small hole will be revealed which you will be able to crawl through. The Great Fairy in there will give you Din's Fire which can be used to burn enemies and light torches.
2. As either young or adult Link, head to Zora's Fountain. On a small island next to a surrounding wall, you can blow up the wall to reveal a wide entrance into a Great Fairy's chamber. The Great Fairy of Magic in there will give you Farore's wind which will create warp points in dungeons for your use. This is actually more helpful than it seems.
3. At the Desert Colossus, you'll find a crack in a wall in between two palm trees. Place a bomb near the crack to blow up the wall to reveal an entrance. Talk to the Great Fairy in there and she'll give you Nayru's Love. This spell will create a protective barrier from you which will fend off any attack except falling down a hole. This spell uses a lot of MP though, so use it wisely.
