It's a good shield except for the fact that it can be eaten by one of the Like Like monsters you'll find in the dungeons. Find this accessory in the Graveyard or buy it at the Hyrule Castle Market.
Mirror Shield This is probably the best shield to use because unlike the Hylian Shield, it can reflect Light off it's silver surface. It also can't be eaten by a Like Like, but it does have it's downside. It can't be used for deflecting Deku nuts back at the Scrub brothers but this shouldn't really be that big of a deal. You'll find this necessary item in the Spirit Temple as an adult.

Fairy Ocarina Used to play songs to help you out with your quest. Obtain this from Saria as you leave Kokiri Forest to see Hyrule Castle.

Here are some things you can put into Magic Bottles.
Lon Lon Milk - Revitalizes five hearts when you drink it. An easy way to get some is to find a cow somewhere and play Epona's Song for it. You can also get a cow put in your own house if you beat the record time of 50 seconds on the Lon Lon obstacle course. (Try to beat the time of 46 seconds. That's my best time. You'll find it's not very easy.)

Zelda's Letter - Princess Zelda will write and give you this to prove you have connections with the royal family.
Keaton Mask - Get this from the Happy Mask Shop and sell it to the guard who you show Zelda's letter to.
Skull Mask - A scary mask which is good for two things. The first is to display on the Forest Stage in the Lost Woods to receive a Deku Sticks upgrade. The second is to sell to the skullkid who you play Saria's Song for to receive a piece of heart. You'll be disappointed though because he won't buy the mask for the bull price.
Spooky Mask - Sell this mask which makes you look like a Redead to the kid in the graveyard.
Bunny Hood - Sell this cut mask to the Wandering Running man in Hyrule Field after you've beaten Barinade in Jabu-Jabu's belly. He'll pay you 500 rupees for this 50 rupee mask.
Mask of Truth - After selling all the masks that the guy in the Happy Mask shop gives to you, he'll give you this mask which will enable you the power to talk to the strange, stone obelisks.
Gerudo Mask - This mask makes you look like a Gerudo thief. The Gerudos themselves aren't fooled so easily though.
Zora Mask - Wearing this makes you look like a Zora. Princess Ruto will think you've finally decided to become one of them.

Claim Check - After four days of waiting, take this back to Biggoron after he gives it to you so that you can claim your new sword. Keep the Claim Check as a souvenir.
Din's Fire Receive this engulfing flame spell from the Great Fairy near Hyrule Castle. This magic spell will light torches, burn enemies, and melt ice. This spell uses 6 MP.
Farore's Wind Receive this useful spell from the Great Fairy at Zora's Fountain. When you cast this spell in dungeons, it will create a warp point in a room which you can choose to return to or dispel from any other part of the dungeon. This spell uses 6 MP.

DUNGEON ITEMS These items will help you find your way and progress within the many dungeons in Hyrule.
Dungeon Map You'll always find this in a big treasure chest. It displays the layout of the dungeon on the Map Subscreen. If you're lost or if you're looking for a specific place, this is the item you'll have to refer to.
Compass This little novelty shows where treasure chests are located on the map and where the boss is. You'll always find this in a big treasure chest. The function of the compass has come a long way since the original "Legend of Zelda".
Boss Key Find this necessary item in the fancily decorated big treasure chest. This is the only key that will open the door to the Boss's room.
Small Keys These things are hidden all over the dungeons and they will be your only means of progressing through locked doors.
Oh, yes. I almost forgot an item. It doesn't really fall under any category so it gets its own little section. Here it is.
The Sinking Lure Although the sign at the fishing pond say that there are no sinking lures allowed, you can find and use one anyway. The lure is not always in the same place all the time so you'll have to look for it real hard. When you obtain it, you can either choose whether you want to use it or not. If you use it, you'll find that it attracts more fish than before and it will sink to the bottom in attempt to lure bigger fish. If you do happen to catch a fish with the sinking lure, the pond owner will catch you in the act of breaking the pond rules and won't give you a prize. It's fun but useless if you really want to be able to earn things on this game.
Whew! That was hard work but it was worth it. Well, that's the end of my extensive explanation of the items in the Ocarina of Time. |
