yrule's past is a locked treasure of secrets. Much of the lore, the legends, and the history of the magical and mystical land have been lost to the ages and are forever trapped in the dark halls of Time, never to see the reaches of the world again. Despite the vigorous study of researchers and historians to find the answers to questions that have plagued scholars' minds for years, much of the effort put forth to find those answers has been in vain.

Despite the hopelessness of the cause, there is yet one magical artifact in the whole of Hyrule that has kept an accurate record of the history of this fair land since the world's creation. In fact, the artifact is rumored to have been created by the goddesses itself. It is, indeed, the legendary Book of Mudora.

Within the Book of Mudora is the complete account of Hyrule that begins with the creation of the land. It includes all of the significant events throughout history -- the reigns of kings and the fierce battles they've fought, gallant princesses of impeccable beauty and magical talent, heroes of courage and the adventures they journeyed, deathly villains in their self-pursuit of power.

However, the Book of Mudora is more than a mere historical account of history; it is a magical book that will never have a final ending. Simply put, once the book was given life by its author long ago, the Book of Mudora has continued writing itself ever since, as if the author's spirit, voice, and hand were contained within the book itself. If one is lucky, perchance one will actually see words magically appearing on the parchment page. The Book is not even limited by its number of pages, as it will create pages for itself when reaching the seeming end of its life span.

Interestingly enough, the pages of the Book of Mudora particularly recall the tale of a specific legend more detailed than any other legend. Throughout this legend, it appears as if the world as we know it was saved no less than twelve times by heroes of valor and courage. This legend is known as the Legend of Zelda. Here, we provide you excerpts from the legendary Book and settle, once and for all, the true history of that very same legend made popular in history books throughout Hyrule.
