Within the first years of their reign, war quickly became a forgotten concept to the populous. The attack of Ganondorf upon Hyrule Castle Town and even the attempted kidnapping of Zelda by the Gerudo witch sisters faded from people's minds due to the very stable peace Link and Zelda managed to weave over the fabric of the land. Indeed, through the efforts of the new King and Queen, the Gerudo tribe, halfway wishing to make up for the troubles they had caused the Hylians and halfway truly wishing for future peace across Hyrule, signed a full-fledged peace treaty with the Hylian monarchy, hoping that this would prevent future bloodshed from taking place between the two races. As peace settled, domestic issues became much more important to the lives of the Hylians, and so the people turned inward to their own personal lives and the lives of their immediate neighbors. By this time, trade had fully been re-established between the various races now that the monsters that once littered the lands were now a rare occurence. The societies of Hyrule thrived in an economic flourish, the marketplace finally back to the hustle and bustle of the throngs of crowds haggling for a better price. Stragely enough, it seemed as if Link and Zelda had done nothing particularly special at all to stimulate the people's confidence; it seemed that people trusted their watchful eyes, and the change in leadership was all that was needed to get Hyrule firmly on her feet once again. With the goddesses seeming to be overlooking the land and guiding it in the right direction, Link and Zelda were able to spend some of the their time together. For them, it was quite similar to their days before they were King and Queen, before they even were a couple in their eyes. Their freedom was definitely reduced, their ability to roam over Hyrule restricted to Hyrule Castle and very occasionally Kakariko Village, but it didn't seem to bother them much. The time together seemed to make up for whatever limitations had been placed upon them. It was no more than half a year into their reign when the announcement came from the heralds of the Royal Family that Zelda was pregnant with the heirs-to-be of the kingdom. Celebrations were hosted across the town, praising the children of the peacekeepers and protectors of Hyrule. As time grew onward, the day of the babe's birth grew closer, representatives from each of the tribes came to the Hylian chief city to support the parents-to-be and to wish them luck for the birth. As irony would have it, those present at the ceremony, aside from Link and Zelda, were none other than the other six Sages who had saved Hyrule in the forgotten history of Ganondorf Dragmire's victory over Hyrule. Darunia, having both seen Link's accomplishments at the Dodongo Cavern and heard of more recent events concerning Link's knighthood seven years ago, had named his son Link in honor of his blood brother. Darunia continued as chiefton of the tribe throughout his days. Darunia would set into motion the building of many new tunnels through the hillside of Death Mountain and the other precipices of the mountain range. Among his people, the Goron chief would be hailed as the one who reunited the Gorons with the Hylians after the Gorons' departure from Kakariko; indeed, under his guidance, several Gorons settled once again in Kakariko. Roughly thirty years later, Darunia would eventually die of old age within the while standing atop the highest point of Death Mountain, his son Link by his side. The Gorons buried his body into the lava of the Death Mountain volcano. It it said that when his body was lowered in, the lava within the crater stopped flowing and hardened instantly, causing the volcano to become entirely dormant. It remains this way to date. Ruto would, unlike her original plans entailed, marry a handsome yet caring Zora several months after the gathering. She would rule as Queen of the Zoras with her stout will; her husband would merely be a figurehead in the political arena. Ruto would see to it that their whale guardian, Jabu-Jabu would return to their land once every year for the warmer months of the season and that he was properly worshiped by the Zora clan. Under her rule, the Zora multiplied in numbers quite quickly, and soon began to crowd the Domain. Ruto's husband, under Ruto's suggestion, led a group of Zoras to follow Jabu-Jabu in his southerly journey southward to find new territory. As planned, she would never see her husband again, as Ruto remained to rule those who had not migrated while her husband ruled over those who had. Prior to her husband's departure, Ruto gave birth to three daughters, the eldest of which ruled in her place after her death. Rauru did not attend the celebration in his physical form, but did make a presence in a spiritual form. Having trapped himself in the Sacred Realm, now the Evil Realm from Ganondorf's influence upon it, he would be unable to ever fully leave the prison of his own choosing. Just projecting his spirit out into Hyrule itself nearly killed him. Before Rauru expelled himself to the Sacred Realm, he had conceived in another Hylian a single son, which would serve to be his descendant. Following the meeting of the Sages, Rauru, tortured by the evil distortions of the once pure Sacred Realm, stumbled upon Ganondorf himself. Ganondorf easily remembered the old man and murdered him while in his weakened state. Nabooru, the lone thief, was held in the highest regard of her tribe, and having allied with the Hylians after Ganondorf's rule made her quite the respected leader of the Gerudo. However, Nabooru faced rather difficult times as there was no natural Gerudo male to support their clan. As before, when in the absence of the Gerudo male, the tribe of women were drawn to the Hylian towns to find eligible men with which to sustain their culture. While they were met with initial success, time began to take its toll upon the race, as their desparation soon became unwelcome to the Hylian towns. The birthrate within the Gerudo began to drop slightly, and Nabooru could do nothing to save them. Nabooru, one of the fortunately ones, was able to have twin daughters, which would grow up to serve in Nabooru's place. As the Gerudo dwindled, Nabooru's pride in her culture was shattered. She wandered into the desert alone and was never seen again. Impa continued to serve as advisor to the King and Queen and would also help raise Link and Zelda's children. Impa, despite her age, was very young from the Sheikan perspective. The intense magic which filled their veins enabled them an unnaturally long life. Over the years and indeed centuries to come, Impa would always be by the Royal Family's side, watching over them and protecting them from danger whenever possible. Impa eventually moved from Kakariko back to Hyrule Castle Town as her services became much more crucial to the Royal Family's survival over the years. One hundred and fifty Hylian years, approximately fifteen years to the Sheikah, following the meeting of the Sages, Impa gave birth to a daughter of her own, who was raised in the Sheikah fashion and beliefs. Down the road, Impa would still play a crucial role in the life of the Royal Family. Saria, the smallest of the six Sages, would return to the Deku Tree promptly after her visit to Hyrule Castle Town. Though incredibly wise, Saria wished as she had always wished to forever be within the Lost Woods and the other Kokiri. Saria would always be the most respected Kokiri of her village, but she refused to take a position as the leader or boss of them. She spent many of her days within the Lost Woods at the Forest Temple, playing her ocarina cheerfully. Perhaps once a year, she would leave the woods and venture to Hyrule Castle to visit Link momentarily before withdrawing back to the forest. Because of her visits, Saria became the tallest Kokiri recorded, topping the tallest one by two hands' worth of height. Though her physical age remained that of a teenager, her mental age quickly caught up with her. She went to the Deku Tree on what she knew would be her last day. She climbed up the trunk of the tree and into the branches, where in a flash of green light, she vanished, her spirit becoming absorbed into the very bark of the Deku Tree itself. Link and Zelda lived the rest of their lives quite happily. Months after the meeting of the Sages, Zelda gave birth to a daughter who would rival Zelda's own beauty; they named her Destiny, reminding both of them how destiny brought them together upon that fateful day so many years ago. Zelda would also give birth to a set of twins two years later: a boy named Kalib and a girl named Eowyn, both names having meaings in the Hylian tongue that were both personal and special to Link and Zelda. Together, they ruled over a quiet and peaceful kingdom for the next twenty-one years when their eldest child Destiny inherited the throne in much a similar manner to Zelda. They remained in the castle walls, parenting their two younger children, but before long, they too became married to others. Though both Link and Zelda had grown accustomed to castle life, several months later after their retirement with the passing of the scepter, they decided they desired to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city life and moved into Hyrule Field on the border of the Lost Woods. Quite often, the former king and queen would travel all across the lands of Hyrule together, and they were welcome everywhere they went. Link and Zelda, as Fate should have it, would die on the same day. All of Hyrule would grieve their passing, and their deaths would only serve to bring the races of Hyrule together even more. They would be buried within the halls of the Temple of Time. Their names would be written in history books and remembered in the minds of the people for generations to come. However, before Zelda passed away in the physical sense, as she had done throughout her entire life, she prophesied an important vision, this one much greater than any she had seen ever before. Zelda prophesied this in the middle of the night during the last year of her queenship. She had awoken from her slumber in a sweat, the vision quite clear in her mind. She went to her wooden desk, a quill and a sheet of parchment in hand and wrote the following words. Dark
futures linger delicately upon the world As she finished writing, Link came over to her and read the prophecy to himself. "Will it be Ganondorf?" he asked her. "Yes," she said in reply. Silence filled the air for a long moment. "Darkness shall decend over the Hyrule we strove to create. It's hard to say when, but eventually, all our work will be gone." "Zel," Link replied in a hushed tone, "you wrote it yourself, right here. There will be great hope... and to date, none of your prophecies have been wrong. Courage and Wisdom will unite once more. If we defeated it once, the next Heroes can as well." Zelda nodded, still somewhat shaken however. "Those heroes," she answers, "will be named after us..."
