By: A. L. Bengal Like rose-colored
snowflakes they fall Like a ballet in
air Gliding, turning,
gracefully descending To the streets tread
by heroes Like a blanket they
cover the stone Clouds of sunrise
pinks Their velvet skins
replacing sandpaper On the streets tread
by heroes The hero reaches
up his trembling fingers Letting the petals
fall into the palm of his hand And his boots push
through the streets Tread by heroes The petals brush
against new wounds Wounds won in battles
just fought And the crowds are
cheering On the streets laced
with petals Another second gone
by, more petals fall he stoops and scoops
up a handful Caressing the velvety
feathers in his fingertips and the people cheer
on through the streets
of petals |
