After a lot of script debugging, search-engine wrangling, and shotgun coding, our main page is now running quite nicely in the Firefox 1.0 browser (which all of you should at least try out). Meanwhile, here's to a Happy New Year from all the staff at TGA; may the days to come be filled with happiness and joy!

Wahoo! I have a new article up for you. ^_^ It's not specifically about Zelda, but deals with Nintendo in general, and the growing amount of pirated products out there. Check it out here!

First off, thank you to everyone who wished me a happy birthday. For those that didn't hear, I spent my birthday being sick with food poisoning and throwing up everywhere. Not fun at all, let me tell you. And this is why I had to delay Chapter 32, "The Candles Beckon," of The Book of Mudora until today. Yes, I'm a week late and several promises short, but hey, when faced between the prospect of throwing up twice as much or pleasing you guys... sorry, but you're taking second banana on this one! I do hope you like it; I think this is a good chapter, and it does indicate... hints of things to come, if you catch my drift!

Hey everyone, I am Everett Haran, and Its great to be on board as the new Interactive Director! Thank you all for waiting patiently for the brand new Say What and David Linkerman; I will be trying to bring them back up to speed. While I cannot promise they will be updated every week on the dot, I will do the best I can. After each new update, you will have roughly a week to come up with something funny and send it in to me at interactive@mudora.com (Remember, its supposed to be funny!). If I am going to be more than a little late on the updates, you will be informed and not be kept guessing. Your submissions were good, so check out the results of last week's contest!

I'd like to extend TML a happy birthday on behalf of all the staff here. He's a whoppin' 24 years old today. So here's to him going out, having fun, and maybe enjoying a good movie.

My thanks to all that applied, and my apologies to all that didn't make it. Several of your applications were very good, and you should be applauded for the effort. Please help Everett revive our David Linkerman and Say What contests, and who knows, I might try to spawn a third weekly contest for everyone! Chapter 32 will probably be up around Tuesday; don't hold me to it.

And we have two of TGA's newest staff members into the fold! It's my privilege to introduce Ganondorf and Everett! You can read all about them in the staff page so you can work on stalking them. But in the meantime...

Ganondorf Dragmire will be our Encyclopedia Writer. He has already wrote up some very excellent encyclopedia entries which should be up in a few days. (That is, of course, entirely depending on how quickly I can get things set up in the OZE and on my site).

Everett Haran will be our Interactive Director. He has a great sense of humor. With him means that Say What? and David Linkerman are once more active. Just pop off to one of them and send him your suggestions. (If you sent your Say What? entry to the current one to Ganonguy, you will have to resubmit it.)

We'll see if we can't get them to post up some introductions later on. Until then... love them, worship them, send virgin maidens to me for inspection first.

We have another Eloze update, although it's not Tears just yet. (That update will come very soon!) Eloze employs a very rich and detailed timeline of the history of events of Hyrule, and their story is slightly different than that which The Book of Mudora uses (despite our attempts to walk hand-in-hand on the plot!). It's a small update, but it definitely gives some context as to where the story is coming from, so it is useful reading.

For all of you still wanting to apply for the Encyclopedia Writer and Interactive Director positions, you have one hour to do so. As soon as the clock passes 11:59pm EST, the deadline will have expired, and no more applications will be accepted. Thanks to the many people have applied so far; I'm bound to have a difficult time deciding amongst them! Good luck to all.

Chapter 31 of The Book of Mudora, "General of the Flame," has finally been uploaded. This takes us almost to the end of Oracle of Seasons with just General Onox left to go. Chapter 32 will finish off the first of the Oracle games, and then finally we'll get into the story-rich Oracle of Ages. It should be quite a blast, and I'm looking very forward to it. I've looked through the remainder of my random notes, and I'm currently predicting to have 54 chapters in the story. Then if you add four for The Minish Cap and four for the next Gamecube Zelda, you get a whopping 62. However as we all know, those numbers never seem to stay constant, so it's all a matter of time...

Another quick update. E-mail should be caught up to speed save for anything since yesterday, so finally the month's worth of unreplied E-mails are done. Also we have three new links on our Links page, one of them getting up there to the Top 5 Links, so they're worth checking out. Lastly in sad news, it seems that was our number one link, Zelda no Densetsu, is down for the count. They went through a bad spell of having their server hacked and then a few issues. It's very sad to see them go.

Hopefully all going well, The Book of Mudora will be updated with Chapter 31 sometime this week, maybe as early as Tuesday. We certainly shall see.

(American) Thanksgiving Day, 2004

I wasn't sure I would get this update done tonight since I had gone to see Stomp in concert, but I got back much earlier than I expected. Thus, you guys get to profit from it. Several of you have been wondering when Eloze would be updated again; well, it now has. The second segment, "The Garden of Farore," has been posted, and I encourage you all to read it. It's simply a phenomenal story and a wonderful read! There's thirteen new chapters posted, so now is the time to get cracking! I will make one sidenote; apparently there were a ton of nuance formatting errors in the story's prologue, and I'm surprised Dark Link hasn't yelled at me ad nauseum for that. They have been fixed, and so now it should look much better. It's not worth a reread (since it just deals with paragraph formatting and whatnot), but if you haven't read it yet, all the better.

Oh, and one last thing. My next goal is to get my all of my E-mail read and replied to. That's really the last thing I'm ridiculously behind on. The oldest E-mail I haven't answered is about a month old, and most of the E-mails I have haven't been replied to because they'd have taken more than two sentences to fully give a respectable answer! (That means your question was good!) So if you haven't heard from me yet, don't worry. Hopefully I'll take care of that this weekend.

Again, for those of you in the States, have a Happy Thanksgiving!

Three new screenshots for the new Gamecube Zelda game. They can be found on the respective game page. Or you can just view them here.

Also, the OZE will be receiving a slight change in the format. In light of this, I pulled out some sample entries, which you can view here and here. I updated the Job Openings page to reflect that.

Well, it's about time I stop slacking, don't you think? Today, the moment you've all been waiting for: the inevitable massive update. We've got three updates today, and there are definitely more on the way. So let's take care of business.

Normally this wouldn't be big news, but after so many weeks of me being swamped with work, this certainly seems like big news! Chapter Thirty, "The Season of Chaos," of The Book of Mudora is finally finished. It's been a chapter I'm sure many of you have been dying for, and I apologise for delaying it for so long. This puts us halfway into The Oracle of Seasons story. This marks give or take the official halfway mark in the entire story, give or take a chapter or two. However with The Minish Cap on the way, there is the potential that this could change. However, viola, there you go. Hopefully Chapter Thirty-one will be up sometime next week.

Second, Some Girl has made us a new splash image for the website. It's also viewable in our Art Gallery if you want to see it there. She hopes you enjoy it!

Thirdly, information on the two new staff openings is up. We are looking for two positions: an Encyclopedia Writer and a new Interactive Director to replace Ganonguy, who is no longer with us. We're looking for a few good Hylians! Think you have the stuff to be part of the TGA team? Please take a look at our Job Openings page to see if you qualify and to see how to apply.

Whew! What an update! There will be much more later. However, since I probably won't get the chance to update before Thursday, to all of our American readers out there, may you have a Happy Thanksgiving this Thursday, and make sure to take a few moments out of the hustle and bustle of the beginning of the holiday season to give thanks in your life to where thanks is due.

Well, the quarter of college is finally over. It's about bloody time too. After a roller coaster of the last so many weeks, it's due time for it to be so. This week was the most accursed of them of all after the incompetent Mathematics Department of my college lost my take-home test that I turned in (forcing me to redo it Tuesday night), only to have it turn up the next morning after I had finished it a second time. Needless to say, this hasn't been a good week, or month. However, things are looking up; my schedule is now much, much more free, and that means it's catch-up time.

I've been delaying a lot of things over the course of the quarter because, at the time, I just couldn't handle it. However, we're going to hit the next month and a half strong, and there are many new things coming up on the horizon. It may take some time to get all of these up (because though school is out, I still have my life at work, (American) Thanksgiving, Christmas, and the New Year ahead of me), but I really do intend on getting these up in the coming weeks. Stuff to look forward to:

  • The Book of Mudora, Chapters Thirty (and hopefully more!)
  • The next chapters of Eloze
  • A new image for the main page from Some Girl
  • A call for a new staff member on TGA
  • Hopefully a new interactive game for our Kokiri Forest section
  • The return of updates to our Art Gallery

Perhaps I'm feeling ambitious. Perhaps I'm a little crazed. Perhaps I'm naïve into thinking I can do all of this. Well, we're going to try. I apologise to everyone for making you wait for so long on this stuff, but I thank you for your dedication, and hopefully I'll get back to a more normal update cycle very soon!

P.S. Do not under any circumstances ask me about the new staff position just yet; until it's announced officially, I have half a mind to disqualify anyone who does so... ;)

No big update tonight, sadly. This is actually me sticking my head up out of the drowning waves of homework to check in. Between being sick and now, I've had a major computer science project (albeit an interesting one) going on, and let's not mention the utterly nasty and incredibly evil Take-Home Test of Doom!™ that took up 9½ hours worth of my time just to do five problems. (It utterly was the nastiest test I've ever taken in my eighteen years of public education.) Anyways, there are only two weeks left to the quarter. I feel bad that I've let Chapter Thirty hang for so long, as well as E-mail correspondence, as well as so much other stuff. I promise to get on the ball in two weeks. I'll at least have the time then to do a lot more around here. Again, my deepest apologies!
