Multiple Link Theory

A commonly discussed issue in the Zelda community is whether there is one Link for all games, or more than one. I have decided to write up TGA's official stance on the debate. We, as a whole, believe that there were three Link's throughout the six games made so far. Link the First served Hyrule and Termina in OOT and then MM. Link II served Hyrule and Koholint in LTTP and then LA. Link III served Hyrule in LOZ and then again in AL. We have much reasoning to support this. First, in LTTP, it is mentioned that generations have passed since the Imprisoning War in OOT. One Link isn't going to survive generations of time and still be able to fight hideous creatures off. Second, Link II is said, in LTTP, to be a descendant of a knight in the Imprisoning War. Link the First was alive during this. That has obvious complications. Third, in OOT, LTTP, and LOZ, Link didn't have a sword to begin with. In LTTP and OOT he didn't have a shield either. I doubt a great warrior would just keep leaving his armor at home every time he has to go fight. Also, this works with Link "meeting" Zelda in both LTTP and OOT. Why would he meet Zelda for the first time twice? Also, Link tends to hear about certain legends (i.e. Master Sword) in each game. If Link was one person, he must have some bad memory. Well, you can keep your eye open for some future articles on the timeline of the Zelda saga. In the meantime, keep sending me requests for topic ideas. Also, I'd like to thank The Missing Link for his help on this article. Thanks!
