Zelda Cubed

The Nintendo 64 is dying out. Its tiny fire, already almost consumed by the Playstation, is on its last embers. However, those sitting around this dismal flame take comfort. For on the horizon, a new fire has awakened. This fire is called…the Gamecube. It features superior graphics, a faster processor, and all around incredible specs. Nintendo showed off this little baby at E3 this year…and cleaned house. With new pledges of third-party support from formerly uninterested parties, this newest system is shaping up nicely. Of course, we can expect to see a barrage of Ninty's own software for it as well. Most importantly, in my humble opinion, is the newest installment in the Zelda series. Nintendo decided not to reveal this game at E3, but we can probably expect to see it at Spaceworld, an even bigger gaming show, in August. In the meantime, all we have is our own speculations. I expect to see another "classic" Zelda. Nintendo needs to make a big splash with their main set of series, so they will probably go with what they KNOW works. I doubt we'll see any "other worlds" such as Holodrum, Labrynna, Termina, and Koholint. I'm gearing up for some good 'ole kick-Gannon-out-of-Hyrule-and-save-Princess-Zelda action. I call it KGOOHASPZ. Goo for short. Seeing as the Gamecube is able to fulfill such immense potential, I expect to see a very graphically pleasing Hyrule. I can see it as a very expansive land of fantasy, even larger than the impressive Ocarina of Time world. As to the details of the plot…I'm stumped. I'm hoping that Nintendo brings in Link IV. Perhaps he could travel to/from Calatia, Link III's homeland. I can only hope that no owls or chatterbox faeries are included in the masterpiece. If the puzzles are anything like the challenges I found in OOA, then I will be very pleased. Though it IS hard to create such difficulty in a 3D environment, I'm sure that Ninty can handle it. GO MIYAMOTO! Sorry, folks, but past these few speculations and guesses, I'm totally lost. If you have any other ideas of the game, send them in to me, and they just might get put on the site. Also, please send me any article ideas you guys can come up with. Until next time…
