Oracle
Of Seasons
Ah, another fine game. I must say that I enjoyed this game to
its fullest potential. However, that potential fell flat of its
partner-in-crime, Oracle of Ages. The game's puzzles were not
half so difficult, the dungeons were pretty straightforward, and
it seemed to appeal to the less skilled gamers out there. Don't
get me wrong, it was a good game. I liked it more than Majora's
Mask, which I DID enjoy. I guess that this great game just pales
next to its sister. The fighting was good; it had some nice action.
The bosses were all very original and creative. The overworld
was very unique, such as the town full of water. I didn't really
like Subrosia, an underground world that was linked to Holodrum.
(Holodrum is the main overworld). Subrosia didn't seem to fit
in at all. It was as if Nintendo needed something to add to the
game, and Subrosia was born. However, this was all (mostly) made
up for by the wonderful "linking" between OOS and OOA. Through
a password system, you could acquire extra items, extra health,
etc… I was hoping to see some good overworld puzzles with the
changing seasons, similar to what OOA did with time, however,
all I found some very straightforward, unoriginal, simple tricks.
Though I did love OOA more than OOS, neither is complete without
the other. Do not play only one. The whole experience and feel
would be lost. One thing I did find interesting in OOS, it made
several references to the original Legend of Zelda. Ninty brought
in some old characters. They brought back some old items, too.
Compared to the rest of the Zelda series, this game certainly
wasn't in the higher ranks. However, it was a GREAT game. Go get
it! Go on!
