Zelda's Death

Now, I've received a very large amount of e-mails recently regarding the rumors about Zelda's death in the upcoming Zelda game. They all include lines such as, "Please tell me this isn't true!" Well, why? Why are people so worried about Zelda dying? I think it'd be a great thing. Just imagine, Link rides up to find Hyrule Castle in flames. He rushes inside and attacks enemy after enemy working his way up into the princess's chamber. When he gets there, all he sees is a figure leave the room through the window, and Zelda's body fall limp. He runs to her side, but it's too late. I mean, come on, that's exciting stuff! I'd love that. You spend the rest of the game with some actual emotion behind ya. I've heard complaints about how, if Zelda dies, so does the series. How so? We all know that there's more than one Link right? In fact, centuries pass between OOT and LTTP. There has to be more than one Zelda. After all, she's only Hylian. If one of them dies, then what's the problem? Their kids can be in the series. Or their brother's kids, or any of the royal family's kids. Zelda's don't have to be direct descendants of each other. Some people want Zelda to die, and then Link saves her. I'd hate that more than anything. It would be the epitome of cheesiness. I hate it when an author/developer kills off a character with a lot of emotion, and then revives them. It takes all feeling away. I liked when Aeris died in FF7. It made me mad, and that's what I loved. It gave me some conviction to kill Sephiroth. That's what I'm looking for out of Zelda. Well, I'm done. I'm sure I'll get hate mail for this;) Send it in!
