What I Like

Well, as all my regular readers out there know, I almost always use this column as a way to complain about all that is wrong with the video game world. I've got a bit of a surprise for you today. I'm going to talk about the things I like. *everyone gasps* That's right, I like things too. Let's start with the really good. I love the fact that Squaresoft will make games for Nintendo. Nintendo needs third party development. That was the whole reason that the 64 didn't do so hot. If the Gamecube stands any chance, they will need Squaresoft and others giving them major support. Let's not delude ourselves here. Look at how many games the Gamecube has out compared to the X-Box. Neither one has anything too amazing out, but sheer variety is never a bad thing. What else do I like…hmm….I like that the consoles are lowering their prices. That means that there will be a boost in console sales coming up which is always good for the industry. Thinking of things I like is harder than I thought it'd be. I like that the 5th generation consoles are starting on their 2nd generation of games. The programmers are getting used to what they have to work with and we can see some better quality starting to appear. I like the rumors that the remake for LTTP on GBA may have a cooperative mode where several players go through the dungeons together. Co-op=fun! I also like that there's a lot of internet capabilities coming out for the consoles. Multiplayer is the single longest factor in the longevity of computer games, and possibly in the near future console games. I also like that TGA is back online right now and should stay online for a long time to come. And with that note, I shall leave you. Remember, graphics are meaningless! Fight the good fight!
